Carter grew up here in Birmingham, AL and was a four year member of the Mountain Brook High School tennis team and a part of 2 state championship teams. A lifelong athlete, he played baseball, basketball, and football before finding tennis at the age of 12. Carter started helping out with kids clinics and camps here at Pinetree at the age of 15 and quickly developed a love for teaching the sport. After high school, Carter went on to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, GA where he studied Political Science and Spanish. While he did not play tennis for UGA, he began teaching tennis in Athens after his sophomore year which he continued for the duration of his time in Athens, furthering his passion for teaching. Carter is the Director of 10&Under Tennis but enjoys working with players of all ages, abilities, and styles. Off the court, Carter loves music, traveling, and hiking. He has been a full time member of our staff since December 2012 and loves the impact he can have on people both on and off the court.
